100 Pianos History

100 Pianos was founded in 2005 on the belief that high quality web application development and design could, and should, be provided at a reasonable cost. Because of our unique approach to design and development, we were able to offer top notch services at a price that our competition just couldn't match. While most businesses take at least a year to make a profit, we came out of the gates and were in the green within 6 months.

In 2006, we released our Personal Webmaster package, designed to help organizations whose technical budget is limited. Specifically, we were contacted by an organization who wanted to do more with their website, but didn't have the time or staff to do it. For a small monthly fee, they were able to rely on 100 Pianos' expertise and took their website to the next level.

While 100 Pianos has always offered low-cost hosting and domain names, we made a bold decision after four years in business. Rather than trying to provide a multitude of services on our own, we decided to partner with GoDaddy.com for hosting and domain services and to focus our in-house services on web application development, web design, content management systems, and search engine optimization.

As we move forward in 2018, we are excited to see what projects the future olds, what challenges we'll face as a company, and what creative solutions will be found as a result.

Community

Web development and design is one of those things that can seem silly when you look at it in light of the big picture. We know that a web development and design firm isn't likely going to change the world. However, we recognize that there are people and organizations in our community that are doing just that.

100 Pianos is honored to have worked with a number of non-profit organizations in the past and look forward to working with others in the future. If you are a non-profit organization and are interested in web development or design services, we recognize that the work you're doing is important and not always as well-funded as we'd like it to be. Because of this, we are proud to offer our non-profit partners a significant discount on all of our services.

Why 100 Pianos?

~ From the founder...

As I've worked with more and more people, the question that keeps coming up is, "Why are you called "One Hundred Pianos"? The answer lies in a quote from A.W. Tozer, in his book, The Pursuit of God:

Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshipers together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.

A.W. Tozer

While the above quote doesn't have much to do with web technologies, I believe very strongly in the biblical principles of unity and love and wanted the business to reflect that. And that's how "One Hundred Pianos" came about.
